What is a Virtual Medical Assistant / Virtual Scribe?
A Virtual Scribe is the healthcare team member responsible for timely capturing and recording of medical information at the point of care. A Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA) does that and the clinical admin around it — the in-basket, prior authorizations and front-office work. Either way the job is the same at heart: free the physician/provider to focus on hands-on, attentive, face-to-face patient care.
